1 Rainbow Bridge

South Africa’s highest rated racehorse is in terrific form and has cracked the inside stall. Rainbow Bridge was an impressive winner of both the IOS Drill Hall Stakes and the Hollywoodbets Gold Challenge leading into this year’s Vodacom Durban July but those were W-F-A races and the July is a handicap. As such, he faces a mammoth task at the weights and there are many who believe the task will prove beyond his reach. On the plus side, Luke Ferraris has got him to relax beautifully in his races and Rainbow Bridge should be running on strongly at the line – perhaps well enough to feature in the frame. In 2019 Rainbow Bridge finished 2nd in the Vodacom Durban July but blotted his copybook last year with an unplaced effort under 60 kgs.
